With rising global temperatures , the narwhal has rapidly become a symbol of environmental loss, cultural grief, as well as a symbol for environmental activist groups. There are 2 main stakeholders commingled with the Narwhal in this devolving situation: 'western' consumers who assume the responsibility of global warming and the native Inuit who depend on the Narwhal economically and culturally. This diptych is a pairing of objects for 'becoming the other', designed to allow the 'western' user to project themselves into an imagined space of The Inuit (harpoon) or the Narwal (prosthetic tusk).
